Originally conceived and rejected for a beer themed art gallery show, it went on to be named USA Today’s best beer label in America. The Growler Magazine awarded it 2nd place for best beer name.

The concept was built on creating a visual mashup of the highly specified language that encompasses the craft brewing and table top role playing game subcultures. To the uninitiated, it can sound like esoteric sorcery. Combining the dark fantasy art found in Dungeon & Dragons books, and ingredients used in the brewing process, the Hopcromancer was conjured into existence.
The beer’s name is a play on the Necromancer character found in JRR Tolkien’s The Hobbit novel.
